Nasty SmellJan 27, 2009 Read the info on the Doggie Dooley website. If your ground does not perk well (drain) don't bother with this because it will stink to high Heaven. Other than than it is easy to install and maintain but our ground is not suitable for this item. I had to pull it out due to smell and flies.

Be carefulSep 04, 2008 This thing worked great for a while. But pretty soon the doggie doodie wasn't "liquifying" like it should have, even though I followed the directions (using their powder) and deposited the "load" of one dog, rather than two. What's more, what WAS properly overflowing into the hole apparently wasn't seeping into the soil much, because a few months later it would overflow no more. Now I have a four foot hole full of Doggie Dooley doodie that I don't want to go near!
Great idea for a product - very green. But be careful. I would actually give this thing one star, except for the outside chance that my soil is simply rockier or less porous than the average garden. I'd say, dig your hole before you buy this, and if you get four feet down and the soil is still porous, maybe it'll work for you. Didn't for me.

Great Product!Sep 13, 2007 I've had it for about a month now. Works great!
I was a little worried about digging a hole 4 feet deep, but using a post hole digger worked just fine. Just make sure the post hole digger you purchase is at least 5 feet tall or it'll be more difficult.
We have an almost 9-month-old shepherd mix and I was concerned that she'd try to get in the doggie dooley or try to eat it. It hasn't happened, at least not yet. I installed it off to the side of the house because I didn't want it right in the middle of the yard.
I'm very happy with this product!
