Best doggie doodie disposal system.Jul 25, 2010 I have been using this product since April. It works great. We have had up to six Shih tzu's at once and the product never over flowed. I would recommend this product to any one.
The Doggie Dooley Rocks!!Jul 19, 2010 Our yard has never been so clean! We recently got a second dog and went from picking up poop once or twice a week to an every day job. Now that we installed the Dooley we pick it up daily, put it in the Dooley and it magically disappears.
Digging the hole took about 1 hour, we did it after a rainy period so the ground was a little softer and more workable. Also my husband took a can of spray paint and sprayed around the bottom of the Dooley to show how big the hole needed be and that helped us from having to measure and overshooting the hole size.
As far as the other reviewers who complained about the daily & weekly maintenance, it really isn't much, you just need to add water every couple of days and powder every week. I have a watering can I keep full of water and every couple of days I carry it back and add water along with the poop. No big deal.
A couple of more tips: I am a huge fan of Amazon but ordered the Dooley through Dr's Foster & Smith because it was cheaper and I would receive it just as quick. Also, if you've got more than one big dog it's probably worth ordering extra Waste Terminator right away also. The Dooley includes enough for one dog for one year at 1 tablespoon per week. The manufacturer suggests using one extra tablespoon if you feed your dog higher end foods, we're using 3 tablespoons a week and it's going pretty quick!!
Dog Septic SystemJul 14, 2010 Wow this was difficult to install. The directions said to dig a 48" hole... I gave up after about 36 as I couldn't reach any further in.
I have two large dogs and the top portion quickly fills up but then when you add water it flushes the waste down into the huge hole underneath. There is still a smell and flies buzz around it constantly but it's better than bagging or having a pile elsewhere in the yard and I really don't know how your dog waste could be better disposed of.
You do have to committ to this product, first the install... it's not easy to dig that hole (you can't have too wide of a top opening to your hole) and once it's in, you have to clean your yard constantly rather than waiting til the weekend for best results.
I would recommed this product.
it worksJun 09, 2010 Been up and running for about a month and working fine with no odors . Would have given a 5 but the lid a little flimsy.

Pet Septic TankMay 13, 2010 Before purchasing this product I would highly recommend spending some time planning for placement and to truly comprehend what it will take to dig a proper hole. My first attempt in digging a hole was about 15 feet from a tree.....bad idea. Roots of the tree created a barrier and stopped the advancing hole I created. Once an ideal location is spotted, I would recommend digging a trial run before ordering the product. Dig a 2 ft by 13 inch hole to determine if the ground is free of clay, roots, debris and to see if you have the determination to dig the recommended 4 ft deep hole. Digging four feet takes longer than what one would expect and also plan to do something with all the dirt once it is removed. After digging 2-3 ft it becomes very difficult to maneuver a shovel inside a 13 inch diameter, so plan ahead and invest in a sturdy garden hand shovel and an Ez post hole digger.
Digging is the hardest part, but once completed it is all worth it. Just imagine never having to pick-up pet waste and placing it in a trash can where it creates a disgusting smell and a fly infestation. Overall the product is awesome but plan to invest about 3 hours of backbreaking labor. Good luck!!
