Description:

Keep lawns and play areas clean and sanitary with the Deluxe Doggie Dooley Toilet. Simply install in the ground, drop in dog waste, and occasionally add Digester Powder and water for continuous break down of waste. The Doggie Dooley Toilet is harmless to lawns, pets and shrubs and has the capacity to handle the waste of 2 large or 4 small dogs. Works like a home septic system by using Enzyme and Bacteria action to turn waste into a ground absorbed liquid. Ideal for most soil conditions except hard clay (works well in sandy soil too). Each unit comes with a 6 month supply of Digester Powder and has a step on lid opener. Individually boxed, suitable for shipping. Requires some easy assembly. Our largest unit!

5Easy to install, works great.Jun 14, 2007

I have two large dogs (Shepard/Golden Retiever cross), and this unit has ample capacity.
Tips:
1.Keep it moist! The enzymes can't work if the waste inside the unit dries out. A good weekly wetting is usually enough.
2.The enzyme mix that comes with the unit is limited in quantity. I find that the same mix is used in some enzymatic drain openers;
"Drain Care" by Enforcer Products is one example. Cheaper than buying the
mix from the Doggie Dooley folk.

Product is so far so good. I think I would have opt. for the other bucket style model, just because this one has no water - and it allway seems like it is empty. I fill it once in the AM and one in the PM and both times they are bone dry. Make sure you are close to a water supply! But purchased this one because I have 2 large dogs. I have had it in place now for about 1 month, and working just fine.

4Does what it says!May 03, 2009

When we got our large dog - the thought of putting her poop in plastic, even the biodegradable kind seemed wasteful & gross. So when I heard about these - which are basically small septic systems, I was happy. You could just put a bucket that has the bottom sawed off w/some holes drilled in it & a lid in the ground. But after some good digging - this is easy to use. Like the other reviewer said - just buy the enzyme stuff for other septic tanks, cheaper. I also use a natural cat litter & scoop into a paper bag & then dump it out there too. Then take empty paper bag & put it in the yard waste bin. Keep the water going & it'll do the job.

4Tough to install but worth itDec 08, 2008

Not for cold climates. You have to use an eight inch drill and go four feet deep. This can prove to be quite a task. Make sure not to over cut the top where the dooley goes or you have wasted all of your time. Once you have your dooley set up follow the directions for the waist digestion. The most important thing is to keep it wet. Make sure to fill it with water every day or every other day for the first week and then do it at least once a week after this. You want your dooley to be a mushy mess at all times and it will work as long as you are over 40 degrees. This is much better than filling a trash bag in my opinion.

2Not SturdyFeb 12, 2011

I rarely write reviews, but in this instance I feel it necessary. Given the nature of this product and what it's purpose is, one would think it would be fit for its job. However, I found it very prone to failing, and when a person puts pounds of solid waste in it, having it fail is messy at best. The 'Dooley' is made of maybe 1/4 inch stiff plastic that is screwed together and stabilized with thin plastic beams. All of this is good in theory, but when placing the Dooley several feet into the ground, the placing soil on top of it, then compressing that soil, it does not hold up. I live where the soil is very fine, i.e. not thick like clay, almost like silt, so here the weight is minimal. When the Dooley was put into place and the remaining hole was filled in, it buckled. The bottom support, which is a thin plastic crossbar, snapped and fell to the bottom. Keep in mind that the hole for this poop storage container is at least three feet, maybe more if you have a big dog or more than one - in this case it was approximately five feet easily. So I was left with a cracked container, a snapped crossbar that could not be retrieved without digging the Dooley back out, and a lid that would not close correctly as a result. My advice is to steer clear of this thing and get one made of metal, or something more sturdy. I know that the company that makes the Doggie Dooley 3800 makes a metal model -> Doggie Dooley 3000 Septic-Tank-Style Pet-Waste Disposal System, and in hindsight it would have been better to have gone with that one.
