Like ButterFeb 14, 2010 My 11-month old pit mix's teeth sliced through this toy like butter. If you have a power chewer, stick with the Extreme Kong or Nylabone products. I recently got the Nylabone Ring-Giant and he loves, loves, loves it...to chew and run around with. Just found out about a blue Kong that is supposed to be 25% stronger than ones bought in the store and ordered it...it came in and we'll be testing it out today.
Different colors pull apart too easilyJan 22, 2010 I have a miniature dachshund and having the jaws necessary to deal with badgers, he also rips through chew toys like nobody's business. About a year and a half ago, he had to have surgery to remove a piece of a rubber chew toy from his small intestine. Not only was it a horrific experience for both of us, it cost a great deal of money. He is now only allowed to have "non-destructible" chew toys but these are hard to find and not always all that sturdy. We were really excited to learn about Planet Dog's Orbee-Tuff and their chompers rating system. Unfortunately, this toy lasted approximately 5 minutes. The issue is that our dog not only enjoys just gnawing away but he also likes to grip with his front teeth and try to rip his toys apart. Using this approach, he easily separated the blue from the green and ripped it off. Luckily, he didn't swallow any of the pieces he ripped off before I noticed! Once he had it started, I was easily able to rip off more of the blue. I am going to try to rip off the rest of the blue and give it back to him though I am concerned that he will just try to rip off the raised green parts then. If anyone else has a chewer like this, our best luck has come with the Kong Extreme dog toy ([...]) and the Kong ball ([...]). While the latter isn't technically labeled "non-destructible," since there isn't anything for his front teeth to rip, we haven't had any real problems. We have had some problems with Nylabone because he rips off small pieces of the plastic and then can't get it off his tongue so he just swallows it. If your dog just chews and doesn't rip, I can see this would be a useful toy which is why I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
So Far, So Good!Jan 04, 2010 I first saw this toy in a store a few months ago and my first thought was that my 11 month old pit bull mix would destroy it quickly (she is a power chewer, btw). Over the past few months, I have found that toys holding treats work very well for my dog, so a few weeks ago, so I decided to try it. Well, like a previous reviewer stated, I found this toy is more durable than I thought! Not only does my dog work to get treats out of it, she also will play with it empty, which has been the case for her Kong toys. It seems to be flexible enough for her to chew continuously, yet tough enough to stand up to her powerful jaws. In other words, this toy is great as a treat toy and as a chew toy for my dog, justifying its price.

Super durableSep 16, 2008 This toy is light, flexible, and bouncy. I thought my terrier mix would have it torn to shreds upon impact. To my surprise, it is still intact, without as much as a tooth mark! It's a great toy and it has become my dog's favorite.

Can't get the kibble out...Jul 21, 2008 Yes, it's tough. Yes it's bouncy.
Unfortunately, it is one frustrating toy for you or your dog if you plan to stuff it. If you use treats big enough to not fall right out, then don't plan on your dog being able to get it out. My sixty+ pound pit bull cannot get the treats out. She chews, she licks, she bites and nothing. So she walks away. I end up sitting down and pulling the treats out.
Use it as a fetch toy? Yes. But if you have a dog that likes to jump and try to catch it when you throw, I pity the dog. This thing is so hard it would bruise the dog if hit by the toy.
So 5 stars for toughness and 0 stars for fun.
